GSM Performance are specialists of premium racewear, bucket seats, racing harnesses and Motorsport safety equipment. We cater for motorsport competitors and car tuners alike. For over 14 years, we’ve adapted to the changing markets and requirements of drivers in our industry. This allows us to ensure we are able to provide outstanding service to each and every customer with our high level of product knowledge and expertise.
We have a small and dedicated team compromised of myself, Garreth Sleigh (founder and owner), Felix Stewart (sales manager), Amy Cheetham (customer services), Ben Marriott (website development and social media), and Joanna Collis (admin & support).
Garreth Sleigh – Founder & Owner
When setting up this business back in 2003, my one goal was to constantly ensure that GSM Performance provides a high level of customer service that surpasses all expectations. As the markets have changed over the years, we’ve changed with them. Each month, we adapt to customer requirements and I truly believe this is the key to continuing to excel at what we do.
I’ve carefully selected my trusted team taken on a new apprentice each year to support our local community. With continued product training and hands-on experience in our showroom, we are able to handle all your enquiries with a personal approach. This allows us to ensure you’re completely satisfied with our service from quotation to delivery.
Felix Stewart – Sales Manager
Felix started with GSM Performance back in 2014 as an apprentice working side by side with me learning product knowledge and handling customer service. Over the years of gaining his own knowledge, Felix learned our extensive range of roll cages, seats, harnesses and other motorsport safety equipment, enabling him to handle sales quotes.
In 2017 Felix took over as sales manager and will be happy to assist you with your quotation, recommendations before creating you a complete package. Felix works hard to ensure everything that comes his way is done to the best potential. After taking on additional training, sales training and customer service training, Felix always comes across with a friendly approach.
Amy Cheetham – Customer Services
Amy started with GSM Performance back in 2015 as an apprentice to offer support to myself and Felix with general administration and showroom requirements. Over the year, Amy took on the customer service role, tracking the progress of orders and working with suppliers to ensure we can deliver on time, every time.
Amy has worked hard to ensure that we have a fantastic relationship with each supplier, whilst ensuring our customers receive unparalleled after-sales care through clear & frequent communication, by providing order updates and further information on our services.
Ben Marriott – Website Development & Social Media
Ben started with GSM Performance back in 2016 as an apprentice to take over Amy’s supporting role as she progressed further into customer services.
Ben quickly learned all of our administration requirements and showed fantastic skills with updating our social media and developing our websites. He currently manages our social media content, updates, competitions and also maintains our websites.
While working on expanding our websites, Ben learned a huge amount of knowledge about our racewear & helmet lines. He now handles all of our racewear enquiries both online & in our showroom, so when you’re ready for this equipment, Ben will be more than happy to help.
Joanna Collis – Admin & Support
Joanna started with GSM Performance in 2017 as an apprentice to replace Ben’s position in administration as he moves further into racewear sales. Joanna is learning the ropes about our motorsport seats, harnesses, roll cages and safety equipment.
During Joanna’s first year of working with us, she will be supporting as an administrator while assisting Felix with sales quotations and taking messages.
We can already see that Joanna will become a valuable member of the team during the following years.
Established in 2003 by myself (Garreth Sleigh), my original plan was to help build, modify and customise cars to a standard high enough to be featured in various magazines including Redline and Fastcar. Over the years, we supplied parts and customisation options for hundreds of vehicles and were proud to be part of the Redline Renault 5 Turbo project, while touring all the major modified car shows with our very own 15 time featured Citroen Saxo.
We then started to move into the performance parts market, even racing our performance Subaru Impreza track car and TVR T350c. This gave us an insight into the new direction of GSMotorsport and how we needed to evolve with the changing market. So, over the years with our growing experience dealing with performance and modified cars, we realised that it was time to make a change!
We understood that customers buying certain products demanded better customer service, product knowledge and choice than was currently available. As a result, we focused on retailing specialist high-value parts where we could bring our experience to the table. We can now bring you the latest GSM Performance website line-up.
We believe that providing three websites distinguishing between the product ranges allows us to provide you with a better service. Each website is able to bring you the most up-to-date and accurate information regarding each set of products. With information guides and fitting guides to accompany the product line-up, we feel that these websites bring the best that we have to offer.
In 2012 we opened our GSM Performance showroom taking our service to the next level. We have a full display of Motorsport seats, big brakes conversions, and harnesses. In fact, we have the largest display of racing seats and Motorsport seats in the UK from the Sparco Circuit II, Corbeau Revenge, and Cobra Evolution through to the Mirco RS2, Racesport GT-3, and Bimarco Futura racing seat. The opportunity to sit in all these seats is not to be missed!
In 2013 we are proud to say we are now supplying bespoke race seating for customers that now include: Nike, Partick Thistle FC, MSV Explorer, and Blackberry to name a few high profile clients. In each case, we provide a fully tailor-made quote and package to match each customer’s exact requirements. We then provide a detailed and accurate time plan and project plan every order to ensure our quality of service. For 2014 we have decided to bring you our all new product video reviews. No one else in our market has done this yet so we felt it was the time you could view each product we sell via our YouTube channel. Reading about each product is great, looking at the photos is fantastic, but watching our reviews on YouTube is the next step to providing you with a full customer experience.
In 2015 we have expanded our goal. Putting your safety first! We now focus on all equipment that keeps you safe during all forms of Motorsport. Alongside Motorsport seats, harnesses and roll cages we now sell racing suits, helmets, gloves, boots, and everything else you may need. This has been an exciting development and these products can now be found online.
In 2016 we extended our showroom by another 1000 square foot and increased our stock holding. Our new showroom not only brings you the seats and harnesses previously on display, but we also stock an extensive range of all the racewear that we started to sell in 2015.
In 2017 we focused our customer service experience, for the entire year, week by week & month by month, we worked to look at all our processes from ordering a product through to delivery, and then streamlined every step throughout this process. We then added new features, from SMS text updates through to supporting articles & documents for products (where the suppliers had not provided enough information). We feel that 2017 was a turning point for how we handle each and every enquiry to be the very best in the industry.
With each passing year, we bring increased services with better support and satisfaction without losing our personal small business approach and we strive to keep it that way!
